Evaluation (special education evaluation)
An evaluation is a set of tests, observations, and information-gathering used to decide whether a child has a disability and what special education and related services the child needs.
A parent or the school can ask for an initial evaluation. The school needs the parent's informed consent before a first evaluation. Federal and state rules set time limits for finishing it.
